I happen onto this stall by chance! They used to have a very good 煮炒 that sells one of the best Sambal Fried Rice (most sambal fried rice nowadays have no fragrant sambal smell and taste just like "chili fried rice", some doesn't even taste spicy!). Anyway, I was thinking of buying something simple as I pass by, when I saw this new stall.
What caught my eye initially was the leave they used, just like the ones in Food Republic. I love the food republic fried prawn noodle as well, so I thought I'd give it a try. No regrets man! The leafy fragrance adds to the 古早味 feeling of childhood, and the 火候 is just nice, allowing you to taste the fried fragrance and yet not overly fried. Prawn is fresh and slightly sweet. The gravy (sauce, whatever you call it) taste great too, nicely mixed in with the prawn, thick and tasty! What's great about it too is that I am the type who doesn't like LOTS of pork oil cube (猪油) in my food, can't stand the smell! This prawn noodle is THAT exactly! So some people who loves pork oil cube might not like this - be forewarned.
The only thing that I didn't like was that the coffee shop is not air-con. So I don't really feel like going there for lunch! Most likely "poong kos" if I crave for it in a hot afternoon! :p
